Yesterday, I considered the current state of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, and how it would begin to change over the course of it's obviously dwindling "trending" phase.

This led to thoughts of the many things Black Americans have created, nurtured, and introduced into (popular) American culture. Somehow, these impeccable inventions seem to follow an almost identical trajectory from inception to normalization; be it jazz, hip hop, breakdancing, fashion, slang, and so on - the list is immense.

This song is my observation and assessment, as it pertains to the lifetime of all things BLACK. My hope is that by acknowledging this pattern of reality, we will be able to recognize and redirect it's integration into the process of fighting for our LIVES.
